Project 365 (29) Leaking awesomeness and other stuff......

THIS

is the community funded shirt of SUPREME AWESOMENESS that I got from the Vinnies shop next to the post office.  It was on a mannequin in the front window and the lady behind the counter was not really impressed when I burst through the door in raptures and demanded to purchase it.  because she had to dislocate the buff mannequin (and remove his head) in order to retrieve it for me.
It was $5.50. And she wouldn't take EFTPOS because it wasn't $10 although I would totally have paid $10 for it, but I didn't say that because my dumpster diving pedigree would take a huge smack if people found out that I paid more than the price on the ticket.  God forbid!!
So, I asked the lady behind the counter to babysit the shirt of Supreme Awesomeness while I ran next door to the post office where the mother of all mothers was waiting in line to pay something that she could have paid at home over the internet exept she doesn't trust computers.

ME: OMG, mum there is the most AWESOME shirt next door only they won't take EFTPOS and it's $5.50.

Mother Of All Mothers: (unplugging Ipod) What?

ME:  rabbit rabbit, awesome t shirt, rabbit, $5.50, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!

Mother Of All Mothers: SIGH. (followed by unzipping her purse and handing me 3 kilos worth of 5c pieces.)

Lady in Queue behind Mother Of All Mothers:  (after watching me trying to count 3 kilos of 5c pieces.)
I think you're short 50c.  Here.  But could you put the shirt on and show me??  I don't think I've ever seen a SUPREMELY AWESOME shirt before.

ME: Wait right here.

So, I got the shirt and I put it on and the lady in the queue agreed that it was SUPREMELY AWESOME and my mother was all "she's on day release and the fresh air does her good", but I didn't care because the shirt and I were deliriously happy and leaking awesome ALL OVER THE PLACE.

And then we went grocery shopping.  Because apparantly the fresh air does me good.  Thanks Mum xox.

Project 365 (28) Prince of Troy.

Handsome, regal and cuddly.....what every man should be!!

Project 365 (27) Jurassic Fight Club

Prehistoric carnivores eating each other....fun for the whole family.

random recap....

well, whatever munched on my candles was obviously just passing through, as FF and I ripped the room apart this morning and found nada.  Although himself did suggest that I not keep blueberry flavoured candles down there as it's just ASKING for uninvited guests.  On the HAPPYHAPPY side of things, only $25 to go till I get my 'puter revamped.....so I figure if I don't feed the kids till Tuesday, it's pretty much a done deal!!
On the CRAPPYCRAPPY side, it's still raining, and doesn't look like it's EVER going to stop.  I miss blue skies:(   I can also feel a quilting obsession beginning to form....my double sided monster patchwork beast has been sulking on top of my wardrobe for 6 months, and it's time to get that baby finished, before I die of old age.  Or the mother of all mothers decides she wants the Husqvarna back.

Project 365 (26) Australia Day

Australian of the Year, as told by Second Son.

Random 2012

So, here we are....

Both boys are back at school and seems to be coping OK.  Firstborn is doing his 11-12 combination this year, and has pretty much got a handle on things.  Second son is in year 7 complete with "Senior Shirt" and matching attitude.  His teacher is very precise, takes things at a slower pace, wants everything done "just so".  I'm thinking a little "just so" is exactly what himself is needing.  In my first steps out of house/kids/school, I have signed up for some volunteer work at the Mater, there's an information meeting next Thursday, where I find out what to do next.  I'm not really bothered what I volunteer as, just looking to do something vaguely useful.  I don't know if you can tell, but I'm still sharing FF's computer since mine had a nervous breakdown a couple of months back and we haven't had the spare fundage to fix the broken bits.  HOPEFULLY, that is about to change as FF is owed some cash by a work colleague, which will hopefully get us the new microchips or whatever the hell it is, so I can have my dual screens back in operation.  NOT that I will be going anywhere near HBC until my big brave husband finds out what's down there eating my candles!!!!!!    I found a big pile of shaved wax and half a candle on my desk, and my mind just sceamed RODENT!!!!!!! but I refuse to freak out until I know for sure.  And the only way to know for sure is to send my husband down there with something rodent repellant.   I'm absolutely freaking at the idea of something gnawing on my papers (EEEWWWWW) which to be honest, hasn't happened (yet) but the wax candle munching is still creepy.  I'd sell my soul to have a space upstairs instead of downstairs off the laundry, but there's nothing I can do apart from have FF tear the room apart this weekend looking for furry invaders.  GROSS!!!!  I plan on doing something in another suburb while he gets on with it.  I'm also a day behnd in Project 365  due to the computer sharing issues.  Stay tuned for catch up pix sometime tonight.

Project 365 (22) Happy New Year Dragons!!

and yes, I know this is a monkey.  His name is Ranga.  Cos he's red.
Firstborn bought him for me at the Chinatown new Years celebrations in the valley.  Because I'm a monkey in the Chinese Zodiac. Sebi's a rabbit. Firstborn brought him one back.  Seb and I were supposed to go to, but himself had a slight attack of back to school nerves, so we had a nice quiet afternoon eating Twisties and watching UP,  while the teenagers and FF explored new dimensions in the interests of multiculturalism.

Project 365 (19) Senior Citizen....

Himself, modelling the latest in Year 7 wear.
I don't like it.
I'm not big into anything that involves my youngest becoming older. It's a mum thing.
He loves it though.  Naturally.  It's a boy thing.
Sigh.

Little Boxes

IF YOU WANNA LISTEN TO THIS YOU'LL NEED TO PAUSE THE MUSIC PLAYER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE.

Making the most of the last days of freedom before my boys get swallowed up into the Dept Ed for another year. I HATE the start of the school year. It is, without a doubt, the single most depressing time of year for me. I'm a huge fan of do-it-cos-you-want-to. I am NOT a huge fan of do-it-this-way-cos-big-brother-says-so. So I'm not a totally big fan of the State Education System. I know education is important, I also know that not granting a 12 year old a "pen license" because his fingers don't sit in the government approved pen-holding position makes me itch inside my brain. Take it away Mr Seeger.

treated myself to some goodies from my fave shop.....they have the most gorgeous clothes.
functional and feel good with a touch of fantasy.  Heart me some reatil therapy.

Project 365 (14) Crouching Tiger

I strongly suspect that 365 is going to be ever-so-slightly top heavy with photos of the furrboys.  Which is kind of understandable, since they go almost everywhere with us, and let's face it...they'r easy on the eye, lol.  Hektor playing "man-eater" at the park.....

Project 365 (13) Who, me??

I don't know what you did.....but I'll find out.

And I was doing so well, dammit.

My first post without a 365 photo.  Not that that means there won't be a photo.  I'm sure there will...probably.  But for now, random shit that I've been thinking about.  Without pictures.  Suck it up...you'll live.
So....I'm nearly all ready for themselves to re-enter the state education system.  although firstborn may be a day late on account of Hungry Jacks are apparantly expecting him to work on the first day of school.  Either that, or, just possibly,  my first day of school is on a totally different day to everyone elses first day of school.  There's a precedent for that.  Ask firstborn.  He was totally non-impressed with my calandar reading skills (or lack thereof).  Anyhoo.  He has longs that need to be de-longed in order to be shorts, because apparantly as well as being on a slant, he has the longest thighbones in the first world, meaning that even the longest of shorts are too short, so we buy longs and deshortenise them.  All clear now??  Good.
Second son (who will quite possibly be going to school on the right, government -issued first day, since he's only 12 and doesn't work at Hungry Jacks 'cos they don't have a salt mine or anywhere else that underage children can slave for a pittance) is almost completely ready.  I just have to find out which day the school is opened before the first day, and pick up his very expensive 'bow down minions, I'm a Senior' shirts.  And buy him some books. And something to write with.  And a lunchbox. And maybe some shoes.  What day is it??

Project 365 (12) World Famous in Mt Gravatt

Luuuurve is in the air.....and on the Interwebs!!   FFand I had our Vow Renewal featured on Offbeat Brides!!!!!   Which is a huge compliment because I've been reading their stuff for a couple of years, particularly as our day got closer, looking for advice and ideas, and to have our little knees up featured on their site is AWESOME, cos they have featured some mind-blowing vowages over the years.  So, although I didn't take the photo, I did take the screenshot, and that's gotta count for something.  If you wanna see the whole article you can go here http://offbeatbride.com/2012/01/australia-medieval-vow-renewal  and laugh along with the rest of us.  Ahh Romance.....

Project 365 (11) Brace Yourself

Second Son after getting his braces tightened this morning.  He's doing OK...as in he's seriously not dying enough to be able to eat Hungry Jacks for lunch.  So, I'm thinking he'll live to fight another day.  His braces are now red and green until February 22nd when we have our next appointment and possibly another colour change.

Project 365 (10) Have feline, will travel.....

Welcome to the latest in man-friendly cat transportation.   It arrived this afternoon and both the furries love it.  So much so that Achilles insisted on being carried home at shoulder height so he could see what Hektor was up to in there.  So we ordered one for him, too.  It'll be here on Friday.  Mum has gone back to ignoring us while she walks the dogs.  Jealousy is a terrible thing, peeps.
